Blue Acorn has just launched a responsive website for VIETRI, Inc., the largest importer of handcrafted Italian tableware and home décor products in the United States. The new VIETRI website is built on Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14.
VIETRI began more than 30 years ago with three women’s passion for entertaining and love of all things Italian. Sensing a need for an immersive digital experience, VIETRI engaged Blue Acorn to share their lifestyle through a website redesign to give their customers a seamless Italian experience across all electronic devices.
“Our goal was ambitious: develop a responsive website with custom sales and marketing features on a single B2B and B2C eCommerce platform. Blue Acorn has the talented team necessary to deliver omni-channel eCommerce,” said Lee Frankstone, Vice President of Strategy and Technology at VIETRI.
The new site engages visitors with beautiful photography of Italian scenes. The product pages include biographies of the artisans who handcraft each piece, and users can filter products by their favorite artisan. New navigation allows customers to shop by product style. Information about the materials used and product care are available to read.
“Visiting the VIETRI showroom and learning about the collections was like experience a bit of Italy. The team exudes warmth and passion, and we wanted the website to convey that. Italian-inspired subtleties across the site create an immersive experience,” said Victor Bejar, Creative Director at Blue Acorn.
Magento 1.14’s native responsive framework provides a seamless Italian experience on any device. The website is enhanced by faster page load times due to Magento’s native full-page caching and the Magento-optimized infrastructure of VIETRI’s hosting partner, Rackspace. Further support is provided by email provider Bronto and a live-chat functionality powered by Olark.
One key Magento feature was a deciding factor for VIETRI: the ability to power multiple sales channels through a single website. Blue Acorn combined VIETRI’s two existing B2C and B2B sites, allowing them to manage the new site through a single interface. The B2B site will launch in beta February 2015.
