Rebecca Minkoff, an industry leader in luxury handbags and apparel, leads the way in combining fashion with technology. To best support their omni-channel vision, Rebecca Minkoff came to Blue Acorn to upgrade their site to Magento Enterprise Edition and integrate the site with a connected wall, a connected fitting room, an associate app, and a consumer app. Soon, the eCommerce site would become an integral part of the connected store experience, and an uninterrupted experience would be crucial to success.
In anticipation of a three-day design workshop with Rebecca Minkoff, we created a thorough UX Blueprint full of qualitative and quantitative data. During the workshop, we used that data to inspire ways to most effectively increase conversion rates and support the brand. Rebecca Minkoff’s customer base of tech-savvy millennial women can now access evolving trends whenever and on whatever device they choose.
Abandoned Fitting Rooms
The connected fitting rooms identify each item via radio frequency identification tags. After entering an email address, customers are sent a custom link to rebeccaminkoff.com displaying items left behind in the fitting room.
With mobile-first design in mind, Blue Acorn’s UX team and Rebecca Minkoff’s creative team focused on replicating the look and feel of the showroom to seamlessly connect the in-store to online experience. The single design that has been optimized for all devices resulted in a faster time to market, lower ongoing maintenance costs, and SEO benefits.
Blue Acorn built an integration that allows customers to see the items left behind in the fitting room and built a PayPal extension giving customers the option to pay for in-store purchases with their smartphones.
